Yes, I am still alive and still cooking.  The summer does not leave enough time for blogging I am afraid.  My new goal is to at least photograph one meal a week.  We shall see…

A group of friends and I are bringing dinner to the Ronald McDonald House tomorrow night and I signed up to make a meatloaf.   I was determined to only use ingredients we already had on hand. This meant using pork sausage over ground pork since we have a ton from our CSA.  So I took my favorite parts of three recipes, two of which are from my mothers Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook from the Seventies (when she was a teenager???) and one from Cooking Light.  I stole a sliver off of it before putting it in pyrex tonight.  Yum!  I am excited to make this again for Ben, he will love it.

I promise it tastes 1000 times better than it looks.

1 lb pork sausage

1 lb ground beef

1/4 c green pepper, diced

1/4 c red onion, diced

2 eggs

1 1/2 c rolled oats

1/2 c milk

1 tbl worchtershire sauce

1 cube chicken boullion

salt and pepper

1. Pre heat oven to 350

2. Mix all ingredients together, I mixed the milk and oats first.

3. Bake for 1 hr 15 min.
